Havnin er ein vakstrarbýur, og tilflytarar eiga sín stóra lut í hesum. Eg haldi, at integratiónin í føroyska samfelagnum sum heild eydnast væl, men eg hoyri eisini frá tilflytarum, ið uppliva nógvar avbjóðingar. Ikki minst hjá fólki, sum eru komin higar við einari útlendskari útbúgving, sum tey ikki fáa brúkt í Føroyum.
Vit eiga sum heild at leggja nógv meira fyri, at útlendingar í kommununi hava atgongd til góða kunning og vegleiðing, málskeið og førleikametingar. Eg haldi, vit eiga at hugsa øðrvísi, tí eingin veit betur um tørvin á integratiónsøkinum enn tilflytarir, sum sjálvi eru flutt higar.
Tí ynski eg, at eitt nýtt býráð alt fyri eitt fer undir at skipa eitt ráð við tilflytarum, sum kann vegleiða og lofta spurningum hjá teimum, ið flyta til kommununa. Ráðið skal eisini koma við tilmælum til býráðið um átaksøkir fyri at styrkja integratiónina.
Harumframt mugu vit sum heild styrkja tilboðini innan vegleiðing, málskeið og førleikametingar, soleiðis at tilflytarar hava møguleika at fult gagnnýta sínar førleikar í kommununi.

The population of Tórshavn is growing rapidly and this is to a large extent thanks to newcomers. Generally speaking I find that the Faroese society has been quite successful in integrating newcomers, yet I have also learned that there are some challenges to be dealt with.
One of these challenges is the fact that many foreigners struggle to find jobs that are relevant to their education because the system does not acknowledge their education. It is our duty to put as much effort as possible into making sure that foreigners get adequate information, guidance, language courses, and competency assessment.
I suggest we approach it in a new manner; who better to inform us about the shortcomings of our integration plan than newcomers themselves.
I therefore propose that the new City Council immediately forms an Integration Council manned with newcomers who can offer guidance, advice, and help answer any questions relevant to moving to Tórshavnar kommuna.
The Integration Council is also expected to advise the City Council on how to strengthen integration in its whole. Finally, we need to improve areas such as language courses, guidance, and competency assessment so that newcomers can make use of their competencies.
